Du Preez was born in Witbank, South Africa. He attended Reynopark High School in Witbank. In 1999 he moved to Pretoria, where he has been living ever since.

Du Preez started South Africa´s only dedicated golfing radio show in May of 2005. He obtained his first Guiness World Record in December 2006. He became a full member of the Woodhill Golf Club in Pretoria in January 2007. During 2007-2008 he managed to set up another 3 Guiness World Records, becoming the first and only golfer in the world to have played a round of golf in all 6 continents in only 5 days.

Since 2005 Du Preez has been actively involved in golf through his golfing radio show called “Golf Radio”. In 2007 he was one of 8 finalists competing in the prestigeous Johnnie Walker Striding Man competition held at the Pezula Golf Estate on the Western Cape coast. He won the golf event over two rounds with a total score of 64 points.

During 2007 he joined 4 newspapers and contributes to them monthly through his own golfing column. He currently contributes on a monthly basis to 18 magazines, including the Compleat Golfer. In 2012 Du Preez started his own golfing show, Golfballz, which aires on the popular Ballz Radio (www.ballz.co.za).

In 2015 he joined Waterberg Stereo as the host of the popular “Uit die Sandkuil” golf show which aires friday mornings.

Du Preez has also been in demand to act as MC at various golfdays, sharing with the crowd his experiences on his adventures. Through his record attempts Du Preez has managed to raise large amounts of money and awareness for very worthy causes.

Du Preez currently hosts “Breaking Par” on Mix FM.

In 2017 he acquired Golf Car SA, which has grown into the biggest independent golf cart business in SA, with branches in 4 provinces. According to du Preez this was an easy acquisition, as this grows his footprint in the golfing industry.

So what’s next? Du Preez is busy planning hitting a golf ball off an aeroplane’s wing while flying at
4 000 feet, as well as setting a new record for the fastes round of golf by a 4 ball.
